Lessons from Ramayan :

  • Inspiration from Ramayan :

Ram was exiled for 14 years. They resided in Chitrakoot and then they proceeded to Panchvati. This is where Sitaji was abducted by Ravan posing as a saint.

Ram met Sugriv, who was also in a similar position, where his wife and his kingdom were taken by his brother Wali.

They both became friends and decided to help each other. Ram killed Wali and Sugriv was made the king again.

Then they all set to find Sitaji.

Hanuman and others proceeded south and reached the ocean, but couldn’t find Sitaji. That’s when Sampati, a vulture, brother of Jatayu met them and with his vision he could see Sitaji in Lanka in Ashoka Vatika.

He said, “If anyone of you czn go there and exchange news. I can’t go there because I am old and weak. I don’t have power, but I have vision.”

Everyone was discussing as to who would go to Lanka. Angad could go, but he or Ravan’s son Akshay would die if they looked at each other.

Jambuvan was old. Jambuvan was being modest, or else he was extemelt powerful. He mignt be giving chance to yoing people.

Hanumanji is silent, he isn’t saying anything.

From here, our lessons begin.

Lesson 1: Even if we are powerful and capable, we shouldn’t boast about it.

Jambuvan called and asked why he was silent. He was born to help Lord Ram. Immediately he got up and became as huge as a mountain!

He had infinite power, and he was extremely wise and intelligent. Yet he kept silent. It is usually the empty vessels which make more sound.

Whatever power we have, we must be silent and observant.

  • The power of Hanumanji :

Hanumanji is said to have unlimited power. Yet if we were to just give a comparative example, then…

The elephant in the wild has the power of a thousand horses.

The Airavat elephant has the power of ten thousand such elephants.

Indra has the power of one lakh Airavat elephants.

Vajra had the power of ten lakh Indras.

Such one crore Vajra ,which equals to ten thousand crore elephants, that much power is in the little finger of Hanumanji!

Now imagine the power of his whole body. He displayed his power only when he inspired by Jambuvan.

And even after becoming as big as a mountain,he asked Jambuvan for advice. He requested him to caution him from any dangers.

Hanumanji doesn’t need his advice, yet he asked for it. And Jambuvan adviced him well ,and he felt confident from inside and that’s he was convinced that Hanumanji will be successful in his endeavour.

Hanumanji then bowed down to all the elders, and asked for their blessings.
